Couples Therapy
In couple’s therapy,
the couple is considered the patient. The objective is improving the
relationship by enhancing effective communication. Often when a couple has been
together for a while, one or both people may feel their needs are no longer
being met, or that they are no longer being heard. Therapists incorporate several
effective techniques to rebuild trust and intimacy in relationships.
Over a lifetime,
couples grow and change. Children may enter the equation; finances may become
strained; physical health may worsen; and family members may pass away.
Navigating these changes while maintaining a strong, safe bond is the key to a
happy, long-lasting relationship.
Although sustaining a
successful relationship might seem like a lot of hard work, trained therapists specialize
in helping people learn to appreciate each other once again so that the idea of
“work” disappears and relationship maintenance becomes enjoyable and exciting.
